Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp in Hawaii seeks a Survey Manager to lead survey teams across project sites, providing technical input on engineering standards and land mapping. You will oversee field layouts, calibrate equipment, and coordinate with engineers and superintendents to meet construction needs.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a strong leadership track record, and a Bachelor’s in engineering or geomatics; PLS preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geometrics or related field preferred.
  • Large project experience required i.e., $500m +, NAVFAC, DOD experience preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in survey or land mapping required.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of land mapping and technical survey instrument techniques.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides work control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation by field staff.
  • Ensures crews perform layout work competently and accurately.
  • Checks as-built conditions that require surveying techniques.
  • Provides topographic and cross-section surveys for planning and payment quantities.
  • Assists with conducting quantity calculations as required.
  • Monitors and maintains the condition and calibration of surveying equipment.
  • Coordinates survey activities with the assigned engineer and superintendents to meet construction requirements.
  • Manages survey department resources and department assigned budget.

Are you an innovative leader with expert knowledge of land mapping and technical survey instrument techniques? As a Survey Manager, you who will oversee survey teams of one or more project sites, providing technical input regarding engineering standards, specifications, design instructions and land mapping. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to contribute to deliver exceptional results.
