Senior Survey Manager

Job summary

Dragados seeks an experienced field surveyor to conduct hydrographic surveys in support of dredging and fill projects in Honolulu. You will install and maintain instrument accuracy on barges and vessels, gather data with RTK GPS and tide gauges, and participate in pre-survey planning with the Marine Team.

The role requires 10 years of heavy construction surveying experience, strong English (or Spanish) communication, teamwork, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant surveying construction experience, minimum 10 years of heavy construction experience

• 3D Modeling and export for machine control and survey stakeout

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrographic surveys in support of dredging and fill.
• Install and maintain accuracy of instrumentation on barges and/or vessels.
• Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with Marine Team.
• Set up, adjust, and operate survey equipment to measure distances, elevations, and angles.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of survey equipment.
• Gather survey data using positioning and motion components.
• Collect data with RTK GPS receivers and electronic tide gauges.
• Demonstrate knowledge of survey industry standards and CAD products (AutoCAD/Civil 3D).
• Maintain log of daily activities for as-built.
• Prepare field notes and drawings.
• Use CAD design software (GIS, 3D, Highway/Rail, Building design, Graphic Imaging).
• Coordinate with IT to deploy AutoCAD and Civil 3D updates.
• Develop Civil 3D tools to facilitate CAD production companywide.
• Plan sheet production using Civil 3D and AutoCAD for projects companywide.
• Employ Civil 3D to develop corridor models and utility networks.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job description

• Sets up, adjusts, and operates survey equipment in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles.
• Coordinating maintenance and repairs of survey equipment.
• Gathers survey data utilizing positioning and motion components.
• Collects and processes data though the use of Real-Time Kinematic Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and electronic tide gauges.
• Demonstrate functional knowledge of survey industry standards and CAD products or TBC.
• Maintain log of daily activities for as-built.
• Prepares field notes and drawings.
• CAD design software such as GIS, 3D, Highway or Railroad design, Building design and Graphic Imaging.
• Coordinate with our IT Department to deploy on-going software updates for AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Develop Civil 3D tools and refinements to facilitate CAD production companywide.
• Plan sheet production using Civil 3D and AutoCAD for projects companywide.
• Employ Civil 3D to develop complete corridor models and utility networks.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
