Job summary

Bohler’s West Palm Beach office seeks a Crew Chief to lead all phases of field surveying, coordinating operations and data collection to ensure accuracy. You’ll mentor your crew, mentor project teams, and deliver surveys from concept to construction.

You will guide field teams, manage field notes and plans, and utilize Trimble robotic total stations and GPS data collectors to achieve precise measurements. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and quality in outdoor work environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field experience using robotic total stations and data collectors.
• Experience with Trimble equipment and software preferred.
• Strong math, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• High School Diploma or GED; college coursework in surveying or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Willingness to travel, overtime, and overnight stays as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied terrain and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a survey crew and manage all field work including boundary, topographic, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
• Utilize robotic Trimble total stations and GPS with Trimble Data Collectors for precise measurements.
• Perform field calculations and sketches; download and compile field data with accuracy checks.
• Quality control field notes, sketches, and plans.
• Maintain field equipment and vehicles; perform minor preventative maintenance.
• Oversee corporate credit card, mileage reimbursements, and reporting.
• Conduct surveys independently or with a crew to meet deadlines.
• Adhere to company policies and safety standards.
