Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Survey CAD Manager in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on defining and maintaining CAD standards, coordinating CAD needs with Project Managers and CAD staff, and ensuring accurate, compliant survey drawings.

You will manage licenses and training, supervise CAD technicians, and develop 3D terrain models using Civil 3D/Carlson and MicroStation. GDOT standards familiarity is essential; field verification may be required.

Qualifications

• Must follow established CAD standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Experience with CAD standards across multiple projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil/Geospatial software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure CAD Technicians follow CAD standards.
• Manage CAD licenses, updates, and training.
• QA/QC of CAD work produced by staff.
• Process field survey data using Civil 3D, Carlson and MicroStation to produce finished drawings.
• Develop 3D terrain models using InRoads/OpenRoads for design work.
• Ensure drawings comply with GDOT and other agency standards.
• Occasional field verification of drawings against conditions.
• Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.

Job Summary:

The Senior Survey CAD Manager position will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining CAD standards for the company. Coordinate CAD needs with Project Managers / CAD Staff. The candidate must be detail oriented, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure that CAD Technicians are trained and follow established CAD standards
• Manage CAD software licenses and updates as well as CAD training
• Manage general QA/QC of CAD work performed by CAD Staff
• Processing of daily field survey data using Civil 3D/Carlson and/or MicroStation to develop finished survey drawings
• Development of 3D digital terrain models, based on field data, to be used for engineering design, utilizing InRoads/OpenRoads and similar software.
• Become familiar with CAD standards of various government agencies (i.e. GDOT) to make sure finished survey drawings are in compliance with standards.
• Occasional assistance in the field to confirm finished drawings are representative of field conditions and to further skills toward becoming a registered land surveyor.
• Coordinates with office staff and clients as required.

Education/Experience:

• Associate Degree in Technical Drafting (Preferred) or Comparable 4 Year Degree
• 8+ years of experience in AutoCAD
• 5+ years of experience in land surveying
• 5+ years of managing Junior CAD Technician
• Experience with GDOT deliverables
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
• Knowledge of business office procedures
