Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking an expert Surgical Technologist to assist the surgical team in the operating room and deliver patient care throughout the perioperative experience.

The role requires advanced knowledge of aseptic technique, instrumentation, and leadership within the service line. Employees participate in education, scheduling, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) required if employed after July 1, 2013.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech Program or military training in surgical technology.
• 8 years of healthcare experience and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Surgeon during procedures by providing instruments and maintaining OR setup.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique during setup, draping, and procedures.
• Scrub in on cases, organize instrumentation, and perform surgical counts.
• Select and prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for cases.
• Manage intraoperative medications per OR policy.
• Supervise and mentor junior technologists and participate in performance reviews.
