Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles seeks a Surgical Technologist III to support operating rooms under licensed caregiver supervision. You will prepare ORs, arrange equipment, assist with procedures, maintain sterile fields, and collaborate with nurses, surgeons and staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

The role requires high school or GED, BLS, and CST certification preferred, with at least 3 years in surgical settings.

Qualifications

• High School/GED - minimum
• Vocational/Technical Diploma Includes on-the-job training verification - minimum
• Vocational/Technical Diploma Performs independently in three specialties - minimum
• 3 years Surgical Procedures - minimum
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum
• Certified Surgical Technologist - Upon Hire preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates in-services in collaboration with educators and team leaders.
• Preceptor role for surgical technology students and new hires; mentors staff.
• Improves efficiency and cost in surgical units; participates in budgeting.
• Promotes patient care and safety; participates in Performance Improvement.
• Prepares operating rooms and assists with instrument handling and sterilization.
• Assists surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and supplies.
