SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn is seeking a full-time TH Surgical Technologist 2, NS31 Labor & Delivery to support the surgical team as a scrubbed member providing instruments and equipment during operations.

The role emphasizes preparing instrumentation, maintaining sterile technique, assisting with setup and passing instruments, transporting patients, and contributing to quality assurance and ongoing training for Surgical Technologist staff.

Responsabilités

• Assist in identifying, gathering, and preparing instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Set up and pass sterile instruments during surgical procedures.
• Ensure asepsis and patient safety through proper handling of supplies.
• Prepare the sterile field and assist in site preparation and draping.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room.
• Assist in equipment and supply aftercare.
• Lead and train Surgical Technologist students and new staff.
• Coordinate and delegate assignments to subordinate staff.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
