SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Surgical Technologist, NS31 Labor & Delivery (Evenings) in the Department of Nursing. The role involves scrubbing, passing sterile instruments, and supporting the surgical team during procedures in labor & delivery.

Responsibilities include preparing instrumentation, maintaining asepsis, and assisting with patient prep and post-procedure tasks to ensure safe operation flow.

Responsabilités

• Assists Registered Nurse and surgeon in identifying, gathering, and preparing medical instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assists surgical team with setting up and passing sterile instruments during procedures.
• Ensures asepsis and patient safety through proper handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, implants, and supplies.
• Prepares sterile field and assists in prepping the operative site and draping the patient.
• Transports patients to and from the operating room and performs preoperative shave preps.
• Assists in cleaning and restocking rooms and takes inventory of equipment and supplies.
