Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Sr Surgical Technologist Cert to support high-quality, efficient patient care. The role supports the operating room team, scrubs for procedures and ensures patient safety across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.

Qualified candidates possess AS in Surgical Technology, current BCLS, and a minimum 3–5 years OR experience; hiring may involve LPN pathways in surgical tech roles.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program with an AS or Applied Science.
• Current BCLS certification; certification required within one year of hire for most hires.
• Individuals hired prior to August 1, 2007 are exempt from certification.
• Three years surgical technologist experience with AS or Applied Science OR five years in an operating room setting.
• LPN in Surgical Technologist role: AS in Surgical Technology or Applied Science; current NC license.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care by assisting the surgeon in achieving desired surgical outcomes.
• Aids perioperative team by scrubbing and caring for the patient before, during and after surgical intervention.
