Job summary

Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida seeks an experienced Surgical Tech to maintain an orderly surgical field and support physicians across multiple procedures. Responsibilities include instrument passing, specimen handling and collaboration with nursing staff to ensure patient safety.

The role requires a high school diploma and a Surgical Technology program completion, with current BLS certification and at least four years of surgical tech experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Surgical Technology training program; or Orlando Health training program.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
• Four (4) year surgical tech experience; CST and two (2) years may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly surgical field and pass instruments quickly and efficiently.
• Anticipate and prioritize needs during procedures.
• Assist in counts of sponges, needles and instruments as required.
• Preserve and identify surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assist in stocking and ordering specialty supplies under management guidance.
• Act as SME for at least one tertiary specialty in collaboration with RN.
