Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Training in Surgical Technology or completion of Orlando Health training program.
• Four years of surgical tech experience, CST with two years may substitute.
• Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly surgical field and pass instruments swiftly to the surgeon.
• Anticipate and prioritize needs of procedure steps.
• Conduct sponge, needle and instrument counts as required.
• Maintain and preserve surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assist in stocking specialty supplies under supervision.
• Serve as a technical expert for at least one tertiary specialty.
• Provide scrub services for major procedures in at least two specialties.
