Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA seeks a Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. You will prepare and stock the OR, gather clean and sterile supplies, set sterile instrument fields and maintain aseptic techniques to ensure safe patient care.

The role also involves assisting with orientation of new staff and participating on departmental committees, with shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. A recognized surgical technology program and current BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology
• Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery; gather sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields and maintain aseptic techniques.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees.
