Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Senior Surgical Technologist for Royal Oak Hospital to support open heart cases in a Level I trauma environment. Responsibilities include maintaining the surgical suite, instrument handling, sterile technique, and precepting team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training preferred.
• 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience required.
• NBSTSA/NCCT CST certification required upon hire.
• AHA/ARC BLS within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare the surgical suite.
• Intraoperative handling of instruments and maintenance of sterile field.
• Evaluate changing conditions during procedures and respond appropriately.
• Act as a preceptor and collaborate with education teams on surgical technology curriculum.
