Job summary

UCI Health, a major academic health system, seeks a Sr. Surgical Tech to assist during procedures and ensure patient safety. You will prepare and stock the OR, set sterile fields, and maintain aseptic technique while supporting staff orientation and committee participation.

You may float between Orange and Irvine locations as required. Applicants with two+ years of surgical technologist experience qualify for Sr.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Required to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities during medical procedures.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery, gathering and organizing clean and sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields and maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees.
• Float between UCI Health locations as needed.
