Job summary

Signature Dental Implants & Oral Surgery is seeking a Lead Surgical Assistant to join our specialty practice. You will support the oral surgeon, prepare instruments, monitor patient comfort, and lead the clinical team to ensure safe, efficient surgeries in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has strong instrument knowledge, excellent dexterity, and 3–5 years of surgical experience in dental settings, with leadership experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a dental assistant program preferred.
• Maintain CPR certification up to date.
• 3–5 years of surgical assistant experience, preferably in oral surgery or dental setting.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a sterile environment.
• Escort patients to the operatory in a timely, professional manner.
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed before, during, and after their treatment.
• Assist the oral surgeon by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing materials as needed.
• Prepare patients for surgery, monitor vital signs, and assist in anesthesia administration.
• Verify patient medical history and update records accordingly.
• Ensure patient education about procedures is clear and complete.
• Document surgical details and updates in the patient’s EHR.
