Job summary

CareTech is seeking a Senior Support Worker to assist young people in residential care in Ochiltree. You will help with daily routines, school prep, meals, and activities while supervising a team of Support Workers.

Key qualifications include at least 12 months in children's residential care, knowledge of national care standards and safeguarding, SVQ 4, and a full UK driving licence. Flexibility to cover shifts is essential, with a supportive, values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 12 months experience in children's residential care.
• Knowledge of relevant child care legislation incl. National Care Standards and Child protection.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to cover shifts flexibly and support team members.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of Support Workers.
• Ensure our children receive the highest level of support.
• Support home management with timely updates.
• Promote individuality and avoid a 'one size fits all' approach.
• Monitor care plans and produce reports for managers.
• Create a warm, homely environment with light housekeeping.
• Build strong relationships and provide emotional support.
• Plan and participate in activities and trips.
