Job summary

Luton Borough Council is seeking a Senior Support Worker to empower people, families and carers to live independently with person-centred support. You will promote wellbeing, advocate for needs and work with a diverse team across services to achieve positive outcomes in a supportive, inclusive environment.

You will be flexible in delivering moving and handling tasks, travel between service locations, and cover shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in learning disabilities or willingness to develop this knowledge.
• Ability to travel between service locations and work a varied shift pattern including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and waking nights.
• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to empower individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives.
• Advocate for service users, build relationships with families and professionals, and promote inclusion.
