Job summary

Openwork is hiring a Supply Chain Manager in Houston to lead purchasing, sourcing, inventory control, receiving and shipping activities. You will develop strategies to improve cost, quality, lead time, and supply continuity while coordinating with production for on-time commitments.

You will manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and drive continuous improvement in ERP utilization, inventory accuracy, and material flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of supply chain, purchasing, sourcing, materials, or inventory management.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong ERP/MRP knowledge; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing.
• Experience with inventory management, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills with reporting.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or related certifications are a plus.
• APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPSM certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all purchasing, sourcing, inventory control, receiving, and shipping activities.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost, quality, lead time, and supply continuity.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, lead times, stocking agreements, and terms.
• Manage supplier performance via scorecards, reviews, and corrective actions.
• Ensure procurement processes (RFQs, POs, follow-up, shortages) are followed.
• Lead S&OP processes to align demand, supply, capacity, and inventory strategies.
• Own inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Monitor inventory levels, excess/obsolete inventory, and working capital performance.
• Drive cost reduction and supplier development initiatives.
• Partner with Production Control to ensure material availability for schedules.
