Job summary

AMAX, a leading GPU-accelerated IT infrastructure company, is seeking a sourcing specialist to manage lead times, purchases, and rescheduling of shipments based on forecasts. You will source, negotiate, and purchase goods, contribute to sourcing strategies, and monitor supplier contracts to drive cost reductions.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and formulas.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Collaborative team player with a proven ability to execute projects across all phases and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Six Sigma and/or Lean experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage lead time, purchases, pulls in and rescheduling of shipments based on customer’s forecast and project requirements.
• Source, negotiate, and purchase goods for AMAX following established policies and procedures
• Providing input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
• Participate in, review, negotiate and monitor supplier contracts
• Conduct cost reduction programs and follow through on recommendations
• Develop estimated costs to manufacture special items and determine fabrication methods for specials
• Develop estimates and processing sheets for special orders and update specials program
• Support operations planning and layout on approved projects and monitor during installation
• Conduct/or participate in statistical process studies to identify causes of process variation and implement control methods
• Identify and evaluate new processing equipment possibilities and assess economic impact
• Explore cost and efficiency improvements across product lines and projects

Job description

• Manage lead time, purchases, pulls in and rescheduling of shipments based on customer’s forecast and project requirements.
• Source, negotiate, and purchase goods for AMAX following established policies and procedures
• Providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
• Participating, reviewing, negotiating and monitoring the suppliers contracts
• Conducts various phases of formal cost reduction programs. Investigates all aspects; consult with others concerned or potentially affected; develop recommendations for actions; and follow through as appropriate.
• Pursues projects and solves problems of very broad and significant importance, scope, and/or complexity involving activities such as: identifying the problem, designing the approach, gathering data, arriving at conclusions, recommending action, implementing the action, following up on procedures, and administering control and reporting phases.
• Undertakes and executes studies and projects related to new products or processes; product modifications, modernization of existing processes, etc.; makes appropriate studies and consultations; analyzes and evaluates findings; contributes own constructive ideas; investigates new processing equipment possibilities; evaluates economic aspects of the project; develops recommendations accordingly.
• On approved projects, participates in operations planning and layout, and follows through during installation.
• Conducts or participates in statistical process studies to determine the extent and cause of process variation. Establishes the need for process control and identifies appropriate manual, statistical, or computer-assisted methods for control. Monitors process performance for continued adequacy.
• Develop estimated costs to manufacture special items requested by Marketing or customers.
• Determine the method of fabrication for special orders.
• Develop estimated costs and processing sheets for special production orders.
• Update specials program and other duties as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and formulas

• The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $95,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on the candidate's education, experience level, and skill set
