Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Quality Manager in Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) to lead a team of inspectors across multiple markets and projects. The role involves recruiting and developing personnel, coordinating staffing, and ensuring adherence to ASME and API standards.

The position requires deep knowledge of construction quality systems, ITP development, and effective oversight of supplier quality across diverse districts, with extensive travel and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, Civil Engineering or Construction Management/Engineering (preferred).
• 10+ years in construction/procurement quality management (infrastructure/EPC/Power).
• ASME/API/NACE/ASTM standards experience.
• Certifications: AWS, CWB, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE (highly preferred).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for power, industrial equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% domestically and internationally.
• Strong math, verbal and written communication; MS Office proficiency.
• Organizational and time-management skills; analytical/problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain communications with district management, project teams, inspectors and client as required.
• Recruit, hire, train, mentor and supervise district and project quality personnel.
• Coordinate quality staff on projects and share resources across districts.
• Assist in setting up quality dept and project kick-off/pre-job planning; identify ITPs and checklists.
• Create project-specific checklists for inspectors during source inspections and witness tests.
• Support or lead disposition of shop findings with supplier and project team.
• Oversee ASME quality control compliance and related documentation.
• Research technical questions and interpret construction codes and standards.
• Ensure all project quality records (incl. ASME paperwork) are completed and submitted.
