Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Manager 2 at the Mesa, AZ site to lead strategy and daily execution of supplier quality and mission assurance. You will ensure flow-down of requirements, drive continuous improvement, and oversee supplier evaluations, on-site surveillance, and corrective actions.

The role requires coordinating with Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management and Operations to prevent defects and align acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field plus 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus 6 years, or high school with 12+ years of experience.
• Hands-on MRB, FAI (AS9102 or equivalent), special process approval, and supplier source inspection/acceptance.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or equivalent and application at suppliers.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, issuing SCARs, and confirming corrective actions using 8D/5-Why/fishbone methods.

Responsibilities

• Direct management of 6–12 direct reports.
• Flow down mission assurance and supplier quality requirements into contracts and purchase orders.
• Lead regulatory and standards compliance including MRB and FAI planning, plus NADCAP where applicable.
• Coordinate supplier evaluations, audits, and on-site surveillance.
• Manage SCARs, containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
• Drive supplier performance reviews and RTG recovery plans.
• Analyze supplier quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities across cost of quality, yield, and on-time delivery.
