Job summary

Carter Machinery is seeking a Supplier Quality Lead to manage supplier quality performance, review corrective action requests, lead supplier qualification audits and coordinate with customers on quality issues. This role combines quality leadership with a sales-oriented compensation model, offering a base salary plus commissions with potential income exceeding $100,000.

Travel up to 50% is required, and the ideal candidate has at least five years in quality engineering, strong communication

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in quality engineering or related role.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and control procedures, concepts, and methodologies.
• Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality performance of assigned suppliers.
• Review and approve issuance of supplier corrective action requests.
• Review and approve closure of supplier corrective action requests.
• Lead customer quality meetings regarding supplier failures.
• Lead supplier qualification audits and drive closure of findings.
• Establish processes with new suppliers including customer required documentation and ship loose standards.
• Manage and support customer audits and closure of findings.
• Work with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
