Job summary

Global Connect Technologies seeks an experienced Supplier Quality/Quality Engineer in Indiana to drive quality from new product development through SOP readiness.

You will lead APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC, conduct supplier audits, and collaborate across engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to prevent defects and ensure launch readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of Supplier Quality / Quality Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and manufacturing process assessments.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T.
• Experience with supplier development and new product launch activities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
• Strong communication and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality activities from new product development through production and SOP.
• Lead and review APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and Run-at-Rate activities.
• Conduct supplier process audits and evaluate manufacturing capability and capacity.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Lead 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and structured root-cause analysis for supplier quality issues.
• Support emergency containment, production recovery, and resolution of critical supplier issues.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes including machining, casting, stamping, welding, forming, injection molding, and automated assembly.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality metrics, corrective actions, and launch readiness.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications with GD&T / ASME Y14.5 knowledge.
• Perform or support MSA, Gauge R&R, SPC, capability studies, and Cpk/Ppk analysis.
• Participate in supplier selection, sourcing, feasibility reviews, and DFM activities.
• Support engineering changes, ECN/ECR implementation, and change-management activities.
• Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) and verify supplier process controls.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Program Management, and suppliers to prevent production disruptions.
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across the supply base.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy equipment, or diesel/powertrain manufacturing.
• Experience with machining, casting, stamping, welding, plastics, or assembly processes.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis tools.
• Experience with CMM, 3D scanning, CT scanning, or other metrology technologies.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Supplier Quality experience supporting OEM or Tier 1 manufacturing environments.
