Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Ocala, FL is seeking a Quality Engineer Staff to lead supplier quality initiatives ensuring mission-critical hardware meets requirements. You will partner with suppliers, supply chain, engineering, and operations to resolve complex quality issues and elevate performance.

The role demands strong problem-solving, collaboration, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams across multi-shift environments. Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related aerospace/defense quality discipline.
• Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex supplier quality and manufacturing issues.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.
• Experience with RCCA methodologies and corrective action effectiveness.
• Experience analyzing supplier quality data and risk-based improvements.
• Experience with supplier quality processes including source inspection, FAI, or supplier audits.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with interface to suppliers, customers, engineering, and management.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills for multiple assignments.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex supplier quality investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for procured components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure contractual/regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement efforts.
