Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a seasoned Supplier Quality Engineer to lead assessment of supplier capabilities and drive improvements to meet Total Quality goals. You will partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and robust process controls.

Responsibilities include leading PPAP, GR&R, GD&T reviews, conducting 8D root cause investigations, and deploying quality tools across global suppliers. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Engineering or Physics with related discipline.
• Demonstrated credibility with engineering staff and suppliers.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Quality Management System auditing experience/accreditation.
• Strong project/process management, planning and on-time delivery.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Proven leadership to drive teams to goals at senior levels.
• Ability to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite; experience with JMP, R, Tableau.
• ASQ CQE and Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Ability to prepare and present formal reports to customers.
• Knowledge of SPC, DOEs and ANOVA.
• Adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
• Self-initiative and sound judgment on technical projects.
• Bias for action and multitasking in a zero-defect setting.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Willingness to travel 20–40% (domestic/international).

Responsibilities

• Own assessment of supplier capability and drive timely improvements for selected suppliers.
• Assess manufacturability of new designs and assist engineering/suppliers to improve it.
• Manage product/process development including changes with suppliers to meet requirements.
• Drive supplier development and deployment of manufacturing processes meeting BE requirements.
• Review prototype and production part quality documentation for acceptability; drive PPAP/GD&T/GR&R.
• Support Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering with material disposition decisions.
• Implement continuous improvement across suppliers using quality and lean tools.
• Improve supplier quality processes such as assessments, supplier management, and CAPA.
• Lead high-visibility root cause investigations using 8D methodology.
• May drive DFMEA/PFMEA and use outputs to improve designs/processes.
