Job summary

Rocket Lab in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer I who ensures supplier quality for procured parts and services. The role acts as a conduit between internal customers and suppliers, translating requirements into clear specs and driving continuous quality improvements.

You will lead supplier audits (on-site/remote), create control plans, and develop standards and processes to reduce risk, lead time, and cost. A strong QA background and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a quality engineer in defense or aerospace.
• Experience with regulatory standards such as AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949, ISO13485.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or mechatronic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Establish fundamental supplier quality systems and processes.
• Generate metrics and tools to enhance visibility of supplier performance.
• Continuous improvement of purchased product quality.
• Performing on-site and remote supplier audits.
• Creation of internal and external quality control plans.
• Development of quality standards, processes and procedures.
• Lead CAPA and non-conformance management.
