Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer (I, II, Senior I, Senior II) to ensure quality for procured parts and processes. You will translate technical requirements into clear specs, drive supplier improvements, and balance customer and supplier needs.

You will lead supplier qualification, oversee PPAP, monitor quality metrics, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive cost and yield improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated aerospace/defense or equivalent industries.
• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/Mechatronic engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and Space Addendum.
• Experience with harnessing and cable manufacturing.
• Experience working with suppliers or supplier quality role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and onboard suppliers by evaluating capabilities and quality systems.
• Define supplier technical requirements and process controls for hardware needs.
• Manage PPAP and ensure supplier qualification and reliability activities.
• Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to drive improvements.
• Provide feedback to suppliers to reduce costs and improve yields.
• Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to resolve quality issues.
• Lead supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Own supplier SPC, yield improvement, and tool/process qualifications.
• Lead projects and present findings to internal teams and suppliers.
