Job summary

American Tower is seeking a Senior Supplier Management Specialist to lead supplier performance across regions and strategic partners within its Sourcing and Supplier Management team. The role focuses on governance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement to drive value for Operations, Legal, Finance, and executive stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in supplier performance/procurement, strong contract and risk management knowledge, and experience with SAP Ariba or Coupa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in Business, Supply Chain, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of supplier performance, procurement, or compliance experience required.
• Strong understanding of contract management, supplier governance, and risk frameworks required.
• Experience with health and safety standards and financial risk analysis required.
• Familiarity with TPRM tools and processes required.
• Proficiency in supplier management platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) preferred.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI) preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities required.

The Team

We are seeking a Senior Supplier Management Specialist to join American Tower’s Supply Chain Management organization’s Sourcing and Supplier Management team. The team monitors and enhances supplier performance across contract compliance, health and safety, financial risk, and third-party risk management (“TPRM”). Day to day you will lead supplier performance management activities across assigned regions and strategic suppliers. Drive supplier governance, performance improvement, compliance, and risk management initiatives while serving as a key business partner to Operations, Category Management, Legal, Finance, and executive stakeholders. Own supplier performance outcomes and influence cross-functional decisions that impact supplier strategy and business performance.

• Track incidents and support remediation planning.
• Assist with evaluating the financial health of key suppliers by using internal and external data sources.
• Monitor key suppliers’ credit ratings, payment terms, and financial risk indicators.
• Lead risk mitigation plans and executive risk reviews.
• Collaborate with TPRM teams to assess and onboard key suppliers in accordance with risk frameworks to ensure suppliers meet cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation and support periodic risk reviews.
• Govern corrective action program execution and effectiveness.
• Support initiatives to improve supplier performance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects focused on supplier development and innovation.
• Lead supplier governance for assigned strategic suppliers and regions.
• Facilitate executive business reviews and supplier performance escalations.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Risk stakeholders to resolve complex supplier challenges.
• Influence sourcing, renewal, and supplier strategy decisions through performance and risk insights.
• Drive supplier improvement programs and corrective action initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Business, Supply Chain, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.

• Strong understanding of contract management, supplier governance, and risk frameworks required.
• Experience with health and safety standards and financial risk analysis required.

• Proficiency in supplier management platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) preferred.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI) preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities required.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving required.
• Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change.
• Experience presenting recommendations and business cases to senior leadership.
• Experience managing complex supplier performance improvement programs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
