Job summary

Form Energy in Somerville, MA is hiring a Senior Supplier Engineer, Structural Components to drive supplier industrialization for heavy-gauge assemblies. You will partner with design, advanced manufacturing, and program managers to optimize costs and manufacturability.

This hybrid role requires onsite presence in Berkeley, CA or Somerville, MA at least 3 days per week, relocation assistance is available, and a focus on DFMs, QML, PPAP, and robust weld verification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering.
• BS in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Welding/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with heavy-gauge steel fabrication and large welded assemblies.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME IX welding standards.
• GD&T applied to large weldments.
• Strong supplier relationships with 8D/5-Why root-cause skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to optimize pack-level structural designs.
• Lead DFM reviews with suppliers for welding feasibility.
• Own QML and PPAP roadmap; qualify WPS/PQR/WPQ.
• Establish weld verification programs and NDT plans.
• Identify and mitigate schedule risks in heavy fabrication.
