Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an experienced Supplier Development Engineer III to lead external supply chain improvements and quality across multiple supply categories. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to drive supplier performance and readiness throughout product lifecycles.

The role emphasizes quality, supplier assessment, and cross-functional teamwork, with travel to supplier sites about 30% of the time to build relationships and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 2 years’ experience in design environment.
• 5 years’ experience in Quality/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships across the supply base and internal customers to drive quality.
• Perform supplier quality management and source qualification surveys.
• Solicit supplier inputs into design for manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
• Coordinate Manufacturing Readiness Assessments for suppliers.
• Ensure contract requirements flow-down and quality codes alignment.
• Lead supplier development strategies across domains.
• Coordinate TIMs with procurement, sourcing, and quality teams.
• Oversee supplier inspection requirements and first article inspections.
• Lead in resolving critical supplier issues and risk assessments.
• Analyze supplier performance data to ensure delivery and quality goals.
