Job summary
Amprius Technologies is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to lead technical engagement with suppliers supporting advanced lithium-ion cell materials, components, and contract manufacturing. This role qualifies and develops suppliers, industrializes new processes, and drives launch readiness from NPI through volume production.
The ideal candidate is a self-starting engineer with strong battery manufacturing knowledge, hands-on supplier troubleshooting capability, and sound judgment
Qualifications
- Experience taking products from NPI through ramp to volume production with external suppliers.
- Strong battery manufacturing knowledge across electrodes, cells, or components.
- Proficient in PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, DOE, and structured problem solving.
- Ability to analyze data and drive supplier improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, and development for materials and contract manufacturing.
- Drive supplier industrialization from pilot to full production readiness.
- Assess supplier capability, capacity, and risk for long-term scaling.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align supplier output with product requirements.
- Lead on-site supplier audits focusing on capability and quality systems.
- Perform root-cause analysis and 8D investigations with suppliers.
- Communicate risks and progress to internal stakeholders.
