Job summary

American Battery Solutions is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer in Springboro, OH. The role focuses on supplier selection, evaluation, and management of components to ensure design intent, quality, and compliance with customer needs.

You will lead supplier performance, drive continuous improvement using Lean methods, and coordinate audits, PPAP, and APQP activities while partnering with internal teams to source high‑quality sources and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equal technical discipline.
• Minimum five years managing a certified quality management system (e.g., TS 16949, ISO).
• Minimum four years driving continuous quality improvement in manufacturing.
• Experience in automotive, battery, electronics, or powertrain sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier performance reports and improvement plans, including quality review meetings.
• Assess supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity, and delivery requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ASIL).
• Drive lean improvements, supplier scorecards, audits, and root-cause problem solving.
• Provide technical leadership in sourcing and development of supplier capabilities (cost, quality, delivery).
• Lead investigations on major problems and collaborate with suppliers for corrective actions.
• Guide APQP, PPAP, supplier validation, and VA/VE initiatives; support supplier development and cost improvements.
• Train staff on audit schedules and supplier development activities.
