About the Role

As an Area Supervisor, this position is responsible for managing/directing the daily activities of Field Technicians relating to providing service to FVDs, MIDs, Faregates, Rotary gates, HSDs, and ASDs for SEPTA in the greater Philadelphia area. The incumbent is a qualified, individual producer who applies a strong knowledge of maintenance/diagnostic concepts, practices and procedures, generally works under deadlines and is capable of handling heavy workloads and operating with only general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to staff levels 1 through 4.
  • Set performance goals and provides feedback on individual performance to individual contributors.
  • Manage organization to ensure performance, achieves department standards and schedules, and day-to-day processes to ensure a safe operation.
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained on all components of individual roles.
  • Leads large projects implementations and project planning.
  • Provide direction and manages oversight for the entire production area.
  • Provide technical onsite maintenance and support for SEPTA fare system devices.
  • Work on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors and exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
  • Provide feedback/performance reviews on a periodic basis.
  • Perform administrative duties including workforce scheduling, time reporting
  • Interface with the client on a regular basis to provide updates and status on maintenance activities.
  • Prepare documentation as needed by client and project management, including presentations, troubleshooting guides, manuals, and operating procedures.
  • Provide maintenance training to team members and the client as needed and prepare required documentation for delivery to the client.
  • Provide maintenance support for other US Transit fare programs as needed.
  • Manage and track inventory of spare parts used. Work with procurement to order parts as needed and with Logistics for delivery.
  • Partner with the Central Electronics Shop Manager, to track parts sent for RMA and ensure turnaround time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Formal training in electronics or equivalent electronics work experience.
  • 3-5 years of related technical support experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Past experience in a leadership position of managing and directing subordinates.
  • Experience with maintenance for a major transit agency.
  • Strong customer interface and interpersonal communication skills experience.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $59,290- $77,000.
