Climax Molybdenum is the world’s leading producer of molybdenum and has a long, successful history of doing business safely, efficiently and responsibly. We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years, with mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Our Climax Mine is located between Frisco and Leadville – the seat of Lake County and the highest incorporated city in the United States.

Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules.
  • Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning.
  • Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained.
  • Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales
  • Directly supervise first-line or shift supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
  • Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods, and procedures needed to complete projects.
  • Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$101,000-$141,000.This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.   • Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
