Job summary

National Grid is hiring a Senior Supervisor for our New England Gas Business in Braintree, MA. This is an onsite role and you will manage Instrumentation and Regulation resources to optimize safety and efficiency.

You will supervise field crews, perform inspections, conduct safety meetings, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with safety standards. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred and 3+ years of gas operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field employees engaged in pressure regulation, instrumentation and gas conditioning activities
• Perform mandated inspections and testing
• Perform safety observation tours and conduct safety meetings
• Ensure established targets are tracked and met
• Administer performance reviews, positive discipline and absenteeism policies
• Train field employees in pressure regulation, odorization and instrumentation
• Respond to all gas emergencies and coordinate large mobile workforce
• Continuously look for improvements in current processes and propose new ideas

Job Purpose

The Senior Supervisor manages Instrumentation and Regulation resources to optimize efficiency as well as personal and public safety.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise field employees engaged in pressure regulation, instrumentation and gas conditioning activities
• Perform mandated inspections and testing
• Perform safety observation tours and conduct safety meetings
• Ensure established targets are tracked and met
• Administer performance reviews, positive discipline and absenteeism policies
• Train field employees in pressure regulation, odorization and instrumentation
• Respond to all gas emergencies, from individual orders to system wide events by mobilizing and coordinating activities of a large and mobile workforce and in concert with other departments
• Continuously look for improvements in current processes and propose new ideas

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years of gas operations experience required
• Proficiency in MS Office required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license required

More Information

Salary

$119,000 - $139,000 a year
