Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Sr. Supervisor Environmental to ensure water treatment facilities meet state and federal requirements, monitor water quality, and keep the corporate office informed of changes.

You will supervise operators, oversee pre-treatment or full-treatment equipment, and maintain records and budgets to keep the plant compliant. The role requires strong data analysis, reporting to government agencies, and ensuring a safe workplace with proper safety equipment.

  • Basic computer skills such as checking email, entering data into templates, or creating simple queries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining treatment systems and performing operational maintenance.

Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that all water leaving a Tyson water treatment facility meets the requirements set by local state and federal governments and for ensuring the city is informed if required of all changes in water quality or engineering processes. This requires maintaining treatment systems performing operational maintenance and keeping administrative records budgeting for sufficient funds to operate and maintain the treatment facility effectively and providing a safe working environment with proper safety equipment and tools for personnel. Other responsibilities include analyzing operational data to determine changes and improvements needed to accomplish objectives ensuring wastewater samples are correctly collected and sent to the lab for determining permit compliance and generating reports for the corporate office and government agencies as required. Other duties include aiding Wastewater Operators in maintaining their operator s license overseeing and maintaining the operation of pre-treatment or full-treatment equipment and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintaining treatment systems
  • Performing operational maintenance
  • Keeping administrative records
  • Budgeting for sufficient funds to operate and maintain the treatment facility effectively
  • Providing a safe working environment with proper safety equipment and tools for personnel at all times
  • Analyzing operational data to determine changes and improvements needed to accomplish objectives

Education:

Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses preferred.

Experience:

2 plus years of environmental compliance experience preferred; Wastewater certification license preferred.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory:

This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

Travel:

1 to 5 trips per year.

Sr. Supervisor Environmental would be responsible for shift coverage during any absences or vacations of wastewater operators. Sr. Supervisor Environmental will be responsible for any tasks delegated by complex environmental manager and or plant manager.
