Job summary

Tyson Foods in Scranton, AR, seeks an experienced supervisor to ensure water treatment facilities meet local and federal standards. You will maintain treatment systems, manage maintenance budgets, oversee lab sample handling for permit compliance, and generate reports for corporate and government bodies.

Supervisory duties and safety program oversight are included. This role requires 2+ years in environmental compliance, a wastewater certification if possible, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Education beyond high school with vocational/college courses preferred.
  • 2+ years of environmental compliance experience preferred.
  • Wastewater certification/license preferred.
  • Basic computer skills: email, data entry, simple queries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience over a team performing related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain treatment systems and perform operational maintenance.
  • Keep administrative records and budget for funds to operate facilities.
  • Ensure safe working environment with proper safety equipment.
  • Analyze operational data and implement improvements.
  • Ensure wastewater samples are collected and sent for permit compliance testing.
  • Generate reports for corporate and government agencies.
  • Aide Wastewater Operators in maintaining licenses.
  • Oversee pre-treatment or full-treatment equipment operations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that all water leaving a Tyson water treatment facility meets the requirements set by local state and federal governments and for ensuring the city is informed if required of all changes in water quality or engineering processes. This requires maintaining treatment systems performing operational maintenance and keeping administrative records budgeting for sufficient funds to operate and maintain the treatment facility effectively and providing a safe working environment with proper safety equipment and tools for personnel. Other responsibilities include analyzing operational data to determine changes and improvements needed to accomplish objectives ensuring wastewater samples are correctly collected and sent to the lab for determining permit compliance and generating reports for the corporate office and government agencies as required. Other duties include aiding Wastewater Operators in maintaining their operator s license overseeing and maintaining the operation of pre-treatment or full-treatment equipment and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses preferred.

Experience: 2 plus years of environmental compliance experience preferred; Wastewater certification license preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.

Sr. Supervisor Environmental would be responsible for shift coverage during any absences or vacations of wastewater operators. Sr. Supervisor Environmental will be responsible for any tasks delegated by complex environmental manager and or plant manager.
