Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Safford, Arizona, seeks an Operations Supervisor to ensure production plans are executed safely and efficiently. You will coordinate with maintenance, engineering, safety, and sales, supervise shift supervisors, and drive daily operational performance.

The role requires strong budgeting, planning, and communication skills, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance in a mining environment.

• Directly supervise first‑line or shift supervisors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Description

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and nine (9) years professional experience in accounting, including two (2) years in prolonged intellectual instruction (certifications, instructed training, or on‑the‑job training, etc.) in Accounting or Finance; or
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area and seven (7) years professional experience in accounting; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area, and five (5) years related Accounting experience, including supervisory or lead experience; or
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area, and three (3) years related Accounting experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Skilled in resolving day‑to‑day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
• Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Criteria / Conditions

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions and procedures in English.
• Work in a potentially stressful environment.
• Work in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
• Regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds).
• Personal protective equipment required: hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, respirator, rubber steel‑toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000 - $127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
