Job summary

UFW Foundation is seeking a Supervising Attorney to lead the Workers’ Rights program in a hybrid Bakersfield, CA area. You will oversee casework, build a new program, and mentor a regional team of attorneys and fellows.

The role reports to the Chief Programs Officer and requires active CA bar and multilingual capability (Spanish/English). Salary ranges from $85,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience, with 2–3 days onsite and the rest remote.

Qualifications

• Active California bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of workers’ rights experience; 5 years preferred.
• Functional bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English for client intake and explaining options.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle access for regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a docket of cases including wage theft, retaliation, and related labor standards matters.
• Design and operationalize protocols for a legal services program that doesn’t exist yet.
• Supervise and mentor a regional team of attorneys and fellows, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with the Chief Programs Officer and build partnerships with worker centers and nonprofits.
