Job summary

Halmar International seeks a Superintendent to join the SAS Phase 2 team for the MTA Second Avenue Subway project. Based in New York, NY, this role requires daily presence in the office and on construction sites to oversee the total construction effort in line with design, budget, and schedule.

You will coordinate subcontractors and trades, mentor foremen, conduct safety meetings, ensure compliance with contract documents, plan and supervise heavy civil construction, and maintain liaison with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 7-10 years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred.
• Certifications and/or Licensing Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote and enforce craft and subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Mentor and coach foremen as it relates to company procedures and work requirements.
• Conduct and/or direct project safety meetings.
• Supervise foremen assigned to area of responsibility.
• Ensure that construction is in compliance with contract documents.
• Plan, direct and supervise workers engaged in heavy highway or civil construction.
• Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
• Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
• Ensure that workers are supplied with proper tools, materials and equipment for completion of project.
• Resolve construction problems as required.
• Maintain liaison with other departments to ensure materials and inspections support schedule.
