Job summary

Halmar International is seeking a Field Engineer to join the team assigned to the MTA Second Avenue Subway Project Phase 2 in New York, NY. The role requires daily presence on construction sites and in the office, supporting design-build activities and coordination with Connect Plus Partners.

The candidate will assist in interpretations of drawings, perform quantity calculations, help prepare work plans, assist in surveying, and participate in safety reviews while coordinating material

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Interest or experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to follow directions from leadership and mentors.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews.
• Perform quantity calculations from measurements and installed materials.
• Prepare work plans and work packages.
• Support field surveying and site layout including elevations and control points.
• Participate in safety reviews and toolbox talks.
• Order and schedule material deliveries.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site work groups.
• Supervise field operations.
