Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior Superintendent for mission critical data center projects. You will lead large teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence on complex data center builds.

Role requires extensive field supervision, strong leadership, and a track record with commercial construction; data center experience is strongly preferred. Travel and odd hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fifteen years or more of commercial construction field experience.
• Five years or more of direct supervisory experience with subcontractors.
• Experience in superintendent roles; mission critical/data center experience preferred.
• Proficient PC skills and MS Office suite.
• Ability to read plans and specs.
• Scheduling with industry standard software; commissioning and MEP sequencing experience.

• Preconstruction planning for schedule and budget; reviews trade scopes.

Job Description

Senior Superintendent – Mission Critical to lead large-scale, technical Data Center projects with our large projects team based in Dallas, TX. Occasional nights, weekends, and project-based travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and supports updates to progress and cost reports regularly to support project financial health.
• Understands contracted scope of work with client and trade partners to minimize unnecessary change orders.
• Preconstruction Services
• Participates in preconstruction planning for schedule and budget, and reviews trade scopes.
• Project Scheduling
• Ensures compliance with contract documents and mission critical quality specifications.
• Oversees pull planning, updates, proper testing, and documentation of all systems.
• Project Administration, Operations, and Close-out
• Directs and coordinates subcontractors and internal teams for specialized systems (MEP, commissioning).
• Leads quality assurance/control process including commissioning and turnover to client.
• Promotes Customer Relations.
• Builds strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
• Promotes Culture, Leadership, and Employee Development.
• Mentors project team and promotes company culture through Service, Talent, and Choices.

Qualifications

• Previous or current commercial construction experience in a Superintendent role required. Mission critical/data center experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
• Ability to read plans and specs.
• Scheduling experience sequence using industry standard software applications. Experience with commissioning schedules and MEP sequencing required.
