Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking a traveling Senior Superintendent to lead large-scale Industrial & Aerospace projects from our Nashville, TN office, with travel to GA, AL, NC, SC and FL.

You will supervise subcontractors, coordinate resources, enforce safety plans, and manage onsite crews while aligning with HR and payroll processes; this role requires strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, and frequent travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 10+ years construction experience

Responsibilities

• Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies and all safety-related regulations
• Supervises management of construction projects with owners, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance
• Develops and implements production plans with budget goals in mind
• Assists Project Manager in the preparation of project status reports
• Oversees daily/quality/compliance reports and logs
• Reviews plans and drawings per contract documents and coordinates shop drawings
• Procures tools and materials to meet schedule
• Determines staffing levels and timing per project phase
• Recruits and directs onsite field personnel
• Prepares payroll submissions and HR/payroll documentation
• Collaborates to resolve workforce issues

• Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies and all safety-related regulations
• Partners with Estimating, Division Management and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate management of construction projects, including direct liaison with owner, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job
• Develops and implements production plans with budget goals in mind
• Assists Project Manager in the preparation of project status reports
• Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports and logs
• Oversees the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and the coordination of shop drawings
• Procures tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule
• Determines staffing levels and timing considering building methodology as well as the availability of tools and equipment for each phase of the construction project
• Recruits, hires and directs the work of all company onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes and procedures
• Prepares or oversees submission of payroll to Payroll Department and all documentation required to comply with HR and Payroll policies and procedures
• Confers with supervisory personnel and employees (with appropriate assistance from HR and Legal) to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force

Brasfield & Gorrie is looking for an experienced, traveling Senior Superintendent to join our growing team to run large scale, multi-million dollar projects in the Industrial & Industrial/Aerospace market sectors. Please note this role would be based out of our Nashville, TN office but would be traveling to projects potentially outside of TN in areas such as GA, AL, NC, SC, or FL.

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; minimum of 10 years of relevant construction experience
• Industrial and/or Industrial/Aerospace experience required
• Current knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entities

• Must be able to travel frequently by car and air to jobsites and prospective jobsites throughout the United States and to work out of town for significant periods of time when the job requires onsite supervision
• Must be able to traverse construction jobsites in all kinds of work environments and weather to review work in progress, examine quality of work, and troubleshoot issues
• Works significant portion of day outside on construction site
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work at heights
• Must be able to work in all types of weather (including exposure to extremes of hot and cold) and in all kinds of work environments
• Able to lift/move up to 70 pounds
• Able to stand; crawl; climb ladders & stairs; balance; stoop and kneel; etc (physical activities associated with construction sites)
• Must be able to withstand for long periods of time noise, fumes, airborne particles, etc. associated with construction sites
• Valid driver’s license
