Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking an experienced Superintendent for Architectural Finishes & Interior work on major infrastructure projects in the New York City area. You will own finish activities from rough-in to turnover, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and top‑quality results while coordinating with project teams and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in field leadership, a strong background in architectural finishes, and familiarity with public-sector standards and inspections.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience within construction.
• Strong background managing architectural finishes and interior fit-out packages.
• Experience on transportation, rail, transit, airport, infrastructure, or large commercial construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and submittals.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors in complex project environments.
• Knowledge of phasing and construction within active or occupied facilities.
• Understanding of public-sector construction standards and inspection processes.
• Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
• NYC construction experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead station and architectural finish construction activities from rough‑in through completion.
• Coordinate and oversee installation of finishes, ceilings, drywall, painting, and decorative elements.
• Develop and maintain look‑ahead schedules.
• Coordinate work with structural, civil, MEP, and systems teams.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and daily field operations.
• Resolve field issues and sequencing challenges while maintaining safety and quality.
• Monitor labour productivity and subcontractor performance.
• Drive project schedules and implement recovery plans as needed.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure specifications compliance.
• Manage punch lists, closeout, and project handover.
