Senior Superintendent – Mission Critical / Data Center Construction

Location: Ohio

Salary: $170,000 – $220,000 + Benefits

Project: Live Data Center Project – Ohio

An established General Contractor specializing in mission-critical and data center construction is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Superintendent to take full responsibility for a major data center project currently underway in Ohio.

This is an opportunity for a proven construction leader who has the experience and confidence to operate as the No. 1 Superintendent on site, taking ownership of all field operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, site safety and overall project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of all on-site construction operations, acting as the lead Superintendent for the project.
• Oversee all phases of construction, from structural works through to MEP installation, commissioning and final handover.
• Direct and coordinate multiple subcontractors, trade partners and site management personnel.
• Establish and maintain construction schedules, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Lead daily coordination meetings with subcontractors, Project Managers, engineers and client representatives.
• Oversee complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations, ensuring work is delivered in accordance with project specifications.
• Coordinate critical infrastructure installations, including power distribution, backup generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure and associated building services.
• Maintain the highest standards of site safety, quality control and construction execution.
• Identify potential construction issues, manage programme risks and implement solutions to avoid delays.
• Monitor manpower, productivity, material procurement and site logistics.
• Work closely with senior leadership and project management teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage inspections, commissioning activities, punch lists and final project closeout.

Requirements

• 10+ years of construction experience, with significant experience working for a General Contractor.
• Proven experience as a Senior Superintendent or Lead Superintendent on large-scale construction projects.
• Direct data center or mission-critical construction experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing complex MEP installations and coordinating multiple specialist subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of critical power infrastructure, cooling systems and building services.
• Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of a major construction site and lead large field teams.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, safety and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to operate independently as the No. 1 Superintendent on site.
