Job summary

Our client in Southern California is seeking a driven Superintendent to lead ground-up construction projects ranging from $50M+ with a strong emphasis on DSA requirements. This is a premier opportunity to join a reputable general contractor delivering complex public works across the region.

You will oversee all field operations, coordinate subs, enforce safety, manage DSA inspections and documentation, drive look-ahead scheduling, and ensure quality and adherence to plans and codes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in commercial/public works construction.
• Experience with DSA projects, especially K-12 or higher education.
• Proven track record on ground-up projects of $20M+.
• Strong scheduling and site logistics knowledge.
• Ability to lead subcontractors and field teams.

Our client is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Superintendent to lead ground-up construction projects ranging from $50M+, with a strong emphasis on DSA (Division of the State Architect) projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable general contractor delivering complex public works projects across Southern California.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all field operations on ground-up construction projects
• Coordinate daily site activities, subcontractors, and trades to maintain schedule and quality
• Enforce jobsite safety in compliance with company and OSHA standards
• Oversee DSA inspection processes, documentation, and compliance requirements
• Manage project milestones and proactively address potential delays or issues
• Drive look-ahead scheduling and subcontractor coordination meetings
• Ensure quality control and adherence to plans, specifications, and governing codes
• Collaborate with project management teams to resolve RFIs, submittals, and field issues

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial or public works construction
• Strong experience with DSA projects, particularly K-12 or higher education facilities
• Proven track record managing ground-up construction projects ($20M+ preferred)
• Deep understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics
• Ability to lead subcontractors, inspectors, and field teams effectively
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Technical Skills

• Procore (Project Management / Field Coordination)
• Autodesk (AutoCAD, BIM 360, or related tools)
• Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software experience is a plus
