Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Roof Systems Design Release Engineer (DRE) to lead the engineering, design, validation, timing, and production release of sunroof systems. You will own your components end-to-end, ensuring they meet vehicle objectives and integrate with plants and service teams.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering field and at least 5 years in sunroof systems, with strong CAD skills (NX/CATIA/SolidWorks) and GD&T proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in sunroof systems or similar mechanisms.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work autonomously, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, team-player, and attention to detail.
• Mechatronic component design and release experience.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, CATIA or SolidWorks.
• Experience in power top, convertible top or sunroof components.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of sunroof system components, including design, development, validation, timing and production release.
• Coordinate CAD model management and BOM maintenance; support prototype and production builds.
• Perform DVPR testing and change management activities; drive weight and cost reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with vehicle assembly plants and service teams for issue resolution and root-cause analysis.
