Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Senior SUE Technician to lead field operations in NY offices and deliver accurate utility designations. You will mentor junior technicians, interpret utility records, and collaborate with project teams to ensure quality deliverables.

Qualified candidates have 2–5 years of SUE QL-B experience, proficiency with EM locating and GPR, and the ability to travel as needed for multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of SUE Quality Level B utility designation experience.
• Proficiency with electromagnetic locating and GPR.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations for SUE projects and ensure safe, accurate designation activities.
• Perform advanced utility locating using EM induction and GPR to identify subsurface utilities.
• Interpret utility records, as-builts, and design plans to identify underground infrastructure.
• Mentor junior SUE technicians and assist with field training.
• Coordinate daily activities with project managers, surveyors, engineers and clients.
• Prepare daily field reports, sketches and electronic documentation; perform QA/QC on data.
