Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a SUE Technician III to join our SUE Services team in New England. You will work with a team to identify utility conflicts using EM and geophysical methods, vacuum excavation, GPS and survey, helping projects in renewable energy, oil and gas, electric transmission and substations.

This role requires strong field performance, safety focus, ability to travel, and the capacity to train junior crew members while coordinating with clients and utility companies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
• Experience with vacuum excavation preferred.
• Able to grasp new technologies quickly.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Proficient communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of talented individuals to help tackle a wide variety of projects.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads on project needs and requirements.
• Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities.
• Utilize appropriate maintenance of traffic.
• Call "One-Call" tickets.
• Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE.
• Supervise activities of field crew.
• Train junior crew members.
• Represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field and communicate/coordinate with utility companies and clients.
