Job summary

Safe Site Utility Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead SUE projects across Quality Levels D–A, coordinating records research, field operations, and deliverables. The role requires strong leadership, client liaison skills, and experience managing schedules, budgets, and multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SUE or related field with demonstrated project coordination or leadership.
• Practical understanding of underground utility systems and investigation methods (electromagnetic locating, GPR).
• Knowledge of SUE Quality Levels D, C, B, A and related workflows for data collection and deliverables.
• Experience coordinating field crews, clients, utility owners and jurisdictions.
• Ability to read civil plans, utility plans and project scope documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Colorado.
• No civil engineering degree required.

Responsibilities

• Manage SUE projects involving Quality Levels D, C, B, and A, including records research, field designation, survey/data collection, test-hole coordination, mapping/CAD, and final deliverables.
• Develop project schedules, coordinate field crew makeup, and communicate daily priorities to project teams.
• Serve as primary client contact and communicate scope, schedule, access, constraints, deliverables, and status.
• Coordinate with Colorado 811, utility owners, municipalities, agencies, and other jurisdictions for records, access, permits, and requirements.
• Track scope, budget, labor, subcontractors, and schedule; identify changes or risks early and communicate before impact.
• Review field documentation, utility data, sketches, photos, mapping, and CAD deliverables for completeness and consistency before review or delivery.
• Coordinate Quality Level A test-hole activities, including permitting, traffic control, hydrovac resources, restoration, and documentation.
• Support QA/QC and safety procedures; ensure compliance with SUE operations.
• Work with CAD/mapping staff and professional engineer for engineering review, quality-level assignment, or stamped deliverables.
• Participate in project kickoff, progress, closeout, and post-project review meetings.
